This petition, which we are proud to say has almost reached 12,000 signatures, has generated as many emails to the South Kingstown Town Council. Your emails were so powerful that they gave us the opportunity to enlighten countless elected officials, business owners, community members and many key stakeholders.
Through this education process and great community action, we are coming close to Ending the Seawall Saga. However, we need one more thing from each and every one of you receiving this email.
The Town of South Kingstown and Kevin Finnegan, owner of the Ocean Mist, have jointly filed an application to obtain a permit to repair the Historic Mary Carpenters Sea Wall… This was a major hurdle!!!!
Now that this permit has reached the Coastal Resources Management Council WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!! In February/March, CRMC will be hosting a meeting to discuss and make a vote on the seawall.
We NEED to make this CRMC council realize that Matunuck is a vital part of the State of Rhode Island and MUST be protected. We need to demonstrate to the CRMC council and government officials that the support for Matunuck is as strong and committed as ever. We need to literally get EVERYONE to attend this historic meeting.
As of today February 2nd 2016, we are waiting for the council to set the final hearing date. Once that date is set we will be sending everyone the final meeting details.
We need to get an idea of who we can count on to attend. If we can count on your support simply reply yes to this email.
